Abstract:The existing research shows that high-temperature and fatigue performances of the hard asphalt mixture are better than that of the conventional asphalt mixtures. The asphalt pavement layer used for heavy traffic can significantly reduce the cost while playing the role of its structural layer. On the basis of the laboratory tests evaluating the performance of hard asphalt mixtures, relying on the trial paving section of road under construction, and by adjusting the mixing time, paving and rolling technology, the production and compaction processes suitable for the hard asphalt mixture are studied. The field test results show that the compaction effect of pavement under the “steel wheel 2 times + rubber wheel 3 times + steel wheel 8 times” compaction process is the best. At the same time, it is proved that extending the dry mixing time of hard asphalt mixture and increasing the field compaction function can effectively improve the high temperature performance of hard asphalt pavement.
