Abstract:With the acceleration of urbanization, urban transportation faces challenges of congestion, pollution and energy consumption. To improve the quality of public transportation services and meet the demands of modern cities, the focus is on the engineering design of intelligent connected bus systems. Firstly, the concept and system architecture of intelligent connected bus systems are clarified. And then the design essentials on the functions of each system component are analyzed in detail. Finally, the engineering design practice case of the Driverless Bus Project in Longhu Area, Zhengdong New District, Zhengzhou is introduced. The research and practice show that core modules such as intelligent connected buses, route design, smart stops, intelligent parking lots, roadside facilities, and intelligent scheduling platforms are the design essentials of intelligent connected bus system project. Meanwhile, the technologies like vehicle networking, vehicle-road collaboration and autonomous driving are the crucial technical supports for the intelligent management and control of buses, which provides some theoretical support and practical guidance for the design of intelligent connected bus system project, and has the significant reference value for promoting the technological advancement and industrial application of intelligent connected bus systems in China.
