Abstract:Major rivers in estuarine cities are typically influenced by upstream floods, local rainfall and downstream tides. The determination of flood control standards for these rivers must consider the regional characteristics and hydrological conditions on the basis of the traditional path. Taking the Huangpu River as an example, combined with the need for upgrading the flood control capacity, by comparing the flood control standards of comparable cities at home and abroad and the neighboring cities, designing the adaptive hydrological scenarios, constructing and simulating the high-precision tidal river network model and urban sheetflood model, the determination principle and technical method of flood control standard are optimized. It is finally determined that the flood control standard for the urban section would be maintained at once every 1,000 a, and for the upstream main stream section world be raised from once every 50 a to once every 100 a.
