Abstract:In order to adapt to the development of cities and improve the road traffic conditions, there are more and more road reconstruction and expansion projects. For the projects where the position of the retaining wall in the slope section of the bridge remains unchanged after reconstruction and expansion, the retaining wall cannot be directly utilized due to damage or an increase in road grade after reconstruction and expansion. The direct demolishing of the retaining wall and the building of a new one will not only seriously affect the current traffic, but also have adverse effects on the construction quality of the existing sloping section of the road. Therefore, the existing retaining walls should be utilized as much as possible. Based on the engineering case of Daye Highway from second-grade highway to first-grade highway, it is proposed to conduct the inspections and checking calculation of the existing retaining walls first to determine whether the walls can be repaired and reused. Aiming at the retaining walls possibly to be reused, the different repair schemes are proposed for the concrete and steel bar corrosion repair, retaining wall height adjustment, wall structure reinforcement and foundation reinforcement according to the different types of damage, which provide a certain design reference for the comprehensive utilization of existing retaining walls.
