Abstract:The old urban business core areas often face the reality of high building density and high demand for transportation resources. However, the development of the existing transportation is constrained by many factors, such as low road grades, unreasonable road network density, and the shortage of parking facilities, which in turn cause the urban problems such as traffic congestion and parking difficulties. As an important component of static transportation, the parking facilities are the important infrastructure guarantee for supporting the urban development and the commercial revitalization. Taking the static traffic optimization and improvement planning and design of the Erqi Business Core Area in Zhengzhou City as an example, based on the analysis of the current static traffic problems, and starting from the aspects of parking capacity expansion, control and guidance, a practical and feasible parking capacity expansion model is proposed. Through the engineering measures, the parking facilities in the area are increased. By coordinating long-term and short-term parking demands through sharing mechanisms and pricing mechanisms, the staggered parking can improve the parking space turnover and guide the transformation of travel modes. The optimization and improvement strategies for static transportation in the old urban business areas have certain reference value for the construction of urban static transportation.
