Abstract:With the rapid development of urbanization, the river regulation projects play a crucial role in enhancing the urban water environments and the ecological functions. As a new type of ecological slope protection material, the sponge soil has the significant application potential in river regulation projects because of its excellent water retention, breathability and stability. Taking the Shanghai Fengxian New Town Green Ring Mengze Gangshen River Regulation Project as a case, the application effect of spongy soil as grid stem and planning for slope protection is deeply discussed. And its technical feasibility and economy are systematically analyzed, which ensures the economical feasibility of the project, and can also meet the requirements of sustainable development. The key technological and optimizing suggestions are proposed in order to provide a reference for similar projects.
