Abstract:The concrete has become the most widely used materials in various construction industries. Its biggest drawback is that it will develop tiny micro-cracks inside under the influence of material preparation, engineering construction and the later usage environment. If not be repaired in time, these local damages will not only affect the usability of concrete, but also be possible to cause the penetrating cracks until affecting the structural safety. Through the experimental research on cement-based self-healing waterproof additives, the experimental comparisons are conducted using the internal doping specimens and the reference specimens to quantitatively analyze the compressive and flexural strength, the salt and frost resistance, and the impermeability of the specimens. It is found that the internal doping specimens have significant performance improvements in terms of strength, durability and impermeability. At the same time, compared with the traditional waterproof method in construction difficulty, construction period and material performance, the self-healing waterproof additive can effectively improve the safety and reliability of the structures.
