Abstract:To evaluate the dynamic modulus properties of recycled asphalt mixtures with the different RAP contents, as a design parameter basis for maintenance and design of recycled asphalt pavement, the asphalt mixture property tester (AMPT) is used to test the dynamic modulus E* and phase angleφof recycled asphalt mixtures with RAP contents of 0%, 10%, 15% and 30%. And based on this, the influence law of RAP content on the mechanical properties of recycled asphalt mixture is expounded. Meanwhile, the dynamic modulus master curve of the recycled asphalt mixture is established through the 2S2P1D model to discuss the correlation between RAP content and its dynamic mechanical parameters. Research data indicate that the dynamic modulus of recycled asphalt mixtures increases with the increase of RAP content at the same loading frequency. When the test temperature reaches 35 °C, the dynamic modulus of recycled asphalt mixtures with 30% RAP content begins to decrease, and the dynamic mechanical response begins to deteriorate. Taking all factors into account, it is better to control the RAP content within 30%. Based on the 2S2P1D model, the correlation coefficient R2 of the principal curve of the dynamic modulus of the recycled asphalt mixture established is greater than 0.98, and the fitting degree is good. It is indicated that the existing test temperature and loading frequency can be extended to a wider range, providing a basis for the quality control of recycled pavement in different application environments.
