Abstract:The Meishan Chunxiao Bridge in Ningbo is a large-scale cross-sea bridge connecting Meishan Island and Beilun District. Its design features bold innovations, adopting a vertically separated layout for pedestrians and vehicles while pioneering a lower-level longitudinal-moving opening mode, which is the first lower-level longitudinal-moving openable bridge at home and abroad, and involves a series of key design technologies. These technologies aim at precisely matching the accuracy requirements between the civil engineering structure and the opening mechanical system, thereby ensuring the smooth longitudinal movement and opening of the lower bridge deck. The innovation design of this bridge successfully breaks the constraints of traditional models, and effectively resolves the possible conflicts that may arise when traffic on the bridge passes simultaneously with large ships, which provides the new ideas and exemplary solutions for the development of bridge engineering.
