Abstract:The comprehensive management of small watershed entering lake is a complex systematic project. Taking the comprehensive regulation project of Yangxi River in Dali as an example, the application of green low-impact ecological restoration (GLIER) in small watershed management is discussed. Yangxi River, as a major river into Erhai Lake, faces the problems of soil erosion, water quality degradation and ecological deterioration. The traditional river management approaches often fail to address the coordination between ecology and landscape, which is hard to realize the sustainable and ecological restoration goals. A small watershed management model based on the GLIER concept is proposed to emphasize the integrated measures such as restoring the natural ecological functions, improving the water quality, enhancing the biodiversity and protecting the ecological landscape of the rivers. The study demonstrates that the comprehensive management of Yangxi River not only restores the natural shape of the river, but also enhances its flood control capacity and water purification effect, which provides a valuable example for the ecological protection and management of the Erhai Lake basin, and can provide the scientific basis and technical references for the management of lake eutrophication and the ecological restoration of river flowing into lake in China.
