Abstract:When a slurry shield tunneling crosses the fractured, highly permeable, and unstable soft-upper hard-lower strata at the bottom of the river, it is highly prone to adverse working conditions such as collapsed arches. In such cases, the pressurized chamber opening can only be performed using a filling method. Starting from the construction geology of the slurry shield at the bottom of the river and the current spatial state of the collapsed arch, and combined with the green construction idea, an innovative approach of filling the chamber with flow-state solidified slurry is proposed. The preparation work is detailed, including hoop grouting, bubble chamber cleaning, front gate closure, slurry circulation system maintenance, and the installation of a local reverse flushing system. The principle of slurry replacement in the double-controlled slurry silo, which prioritized viscosity over specific gravity, is formulated. The key control points for the curing agent mixing system and the replacement and graded pressurized infiltration of the flow-state soil in the slurry silo are established. The principle of regional clearance and the pressure-maintaining path of opening chamber in stages is clarified. Finally, the efficient pressurized chamber opening of the slurry shield machine in complex strata has been achieved.
