Abstract:The Shanghai Caobao Road Expressway Project is of grand scale and has extremely complex construction conditions. In order to reduce the construction risk of the 15-m ultra-large diameter long-distance shield tunnel project of Caobao Road, three types of risk sources including hydrogeological risk, shield tunnel origin risk, and environmental risk are identified, analyzed, calculated and evaluated from both qualitative and quantitative perspectives. A set of forms and risk level classification standards for effectively assessing the overall risk of shield tunnel projects is formulated to evaluate the safety risk levels. Based on the safety risk level assessment results of shield tunnel project and combined with the characteristics of the project, the targeted risk management and control measures are proposed to ensure the successful shield tunneling, which can provide reference for risk management and control of similar large-sized complex shield tunnel engineering projects in the future.
