Abstract:The Shenyang Nanjing Bridge Project encompasses the demolition of the old bridges, reconstruction of old bridges and construction of new bridges. Two new independent pedestrian bridges with a clear width of 6 meters are constructed to realize a separation of fast and slow traffic across the Hun River and to connect with the riverside slow paths on both banks, which facilitates the cycling and walking for residents on both sides, and in which the basket-type truss arch pedestrian bridge has a unique design and has become a new landmark of the city. After the reconstruction, the motor vehicle lanes of the Nanjing Bridge has been upgraded from two-way six-lane to two-way ten-lane, solving the congestion bottleneck. The full interchanges on both banks of the Hun River are achieved for the first time. Through the actual case of the Nanjing Bridge Reconstruction Project, the difficulties and precautions of old bridge reconstruction are introduced in detail, which provides the reference for the design and construction of old bridge reconstruction projects in cities.
