Abstract:This paper analyzes in detail the disease phenomenon and formation mechanism caused by water accumulation in the asphalt pavement layer at the expansion joint of the bridge, and systematically proposes a prevention and control plan for the disease from the three aspects of design, construction and operation and maintenance, and applies the plan to a municipal bridge project in Nanning, Guangxi. The engineering application results show that the plan can effectively remove the water accumulation in the asphalt pavement layer at the expansion joint of the bridge, greatly extend the service life of the asphalt pavement layer of the bridge, reduce the cost of later maintenance, and has significant economic benefits.
