Abstract:In response to the shortcomings of traditional SBS-SMA13 asphalt mixture in fatigue resistance, low-temperature crack resistance and storage stability, an enhanced and toughened asphalt mixture CMA-ARHM13 based on the composite modification and discontinuous semi-open gradation design is studied and proposed. The related experimental researches demonstrate that CMA-ARHM13, through the synergistic design of material and structure, has the significant advantages over SBS-SMA13 in low-temperature crack resistance and fatigue resistance, and its high-temperature performance and moisture damage resistance also meet the specification requirements, which is suitable for the road sections with the complex climatic conditions, particularly in low-temperature environments. The research provides a novel solution for the design of functional surface-layer asphalt mixtures.
