Abstract:With the advancement of urban renewal, the road reconstruction in urban core areas faces multiple challenges, including high traffic intensity, heavy-duty vehicle loads, and the preservation of historical and cultural heritage. Taking the road reconstruction project of the Luzu Temple Historical and Cultural Block in Yuzhong District, Chongqing as an example, the main types and causes of stone pavement damage are systematically analyzed, and the comprehensive rectification schemes are proposed. The research reveals that the pavement damage is mainly caused by insufficient construction curing period, concentrated traffic load, strength differences of base materials and environmental factors. By optimizing the pavement structural design, strengthening the base layer treatment, adding the concrete counterforts and replacing the anti-settlement manhole covers, the durability and functionality of the road are significantly improved. The study result provides the technical references and practical insights for road renewal and reconstruction in historical blocks within urban core areas, which has reference significance for balancing the traffic demand and the protection of historical features.
