Abstract:According to the urban transportation development conditions and the challenges posed by existing roads in Xi'an, combined with the relative policies like "urban renewal", the suggestions are put forward to improve the traffic travel environment in Xi'an City in the form of micro-renovation of road traffic. And the specific micro-renovation strategies and measures are formulated. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed measures, taking the Weiyang Road - Changan Road Micro-renovation Project in Xi'an as an example, the simulation model is established by using VISSIM software to evaluate its renovation effects. The result shows that the motored vehicle traffic capacity at the intersection of Weiyang Road and Changan Road is improved by about 14%, and the traffic time of the entire line is shortened by about 12%. And the overall traffic capacity at all intersections along the entire line has been enhanced. The average vehicle delay and queue length have been significantly reduced, and the slow traffic environment at large intersections has been improved markedly. The proposed micro-renovation analysis methods, renovation strategies and measures can provide references for the micro-renovation of roads in urban built-up areas.
