Abstract:Taking a foundation pit project of a riverside pumping station in Wuhan as the research object, the engineering overview, engineering geological and hydrogeological conditions of the foundation pit of the pumping station are set forth in detail. By comprehensively comparing the advantages, disadvantages and applicability of various groundwater control schemes, and in combination with the foundation pit support design, it is finally determined to adopt the measures of 5m-thick three-axis mixing pile bottom seal combined with a three-axis mixing pile water-stop curtain on the side wall, and supplemented by the pressure reduction and dewatering in the pit dewatering well. Compared with the commonly used schemes of pure bottom sealing or end-bearing waterproof curtains without dewatering for the foundation pits of the riverside pumping station, this groundwater control design scheme can reduce the construction difficulties and risks, save the engineering costs, and also ensure the safety of the foundation pit and the Yangtze River embankment, which provides a reference for groundwater control of foundation pits in the similar pumping stations.
