Abstract:To meet the traffic demands and create a good urban landscape effect, Changhong Road Bridge in Shanghai Section of Wusong River Project is an arched truss bridge with a span of 121 m. The main truss is a two-triangular truss and the midspan truss is 6.5 m high. The upper and lower chords are in the closed box-shaped section and the web members are in I-shaped section. The orthotropic steel deck is adopted for the bridge deck system, and the deck is combined with the truss to carry loads together. The hollow V-shaped piers and cast-in-place piles are used for the substructure. The calculation and analysis show that the pedestrian comfort level meets the CL1 grade of the German Pedestrian Bridge Design Guideline (EN03 2008). The force on the joints is rational and the stress meets the requirements of Specifications for Design of Highway Steel Bridge (JTG D64—2015). The deck exhibits the good fatigue resistance. The overall stability factor is 8.14. The bridge shapes a light and smooth urban landscape through arched trusses and hollow V-piers, and the load-bearing performance is good, which can provide a reference for similar projects.
