Abstract:The development of urban society often originates from water and thrives because of it. The "one-river and one-stream" embankments in Shanghai, with the development of the times and the improvement of construction and management levels, have gradually evolved from their early single function of flood control and drainage to an integrated complex that integrates ecological landscapes, leisure and entertainment, and resilient defense. The construction process of the thousand-mile embankments of one river and one stream in Shanghai, the problems faced in improving the quality and efficiency of construction management, and the practical achievements and experience are sorted out and summarized. At the same time, the opportunities and challenges of embankment construction in the new era are analyzed, the future is looked forward, and the new thoughts and research directions for the construction of rivers and streams are proposed, which provide references and inspirations for promoting the high-quality construction and development of water conservancy in megacities.
