Abstract:The water depth for the construction of the steel cofferdam of the main bridge pier base slab of the Guijiang Special Bridge on Cangzhao Expressway exceeds 15 m, and the riverbed overburden is composed of moderately weathered rock layers, which are hard. The riverbed terrain has a large elevation difference and a steep slope ratio, which brings great difficulties to the construction. Multiple techniques such as drilling blasting and micro-differential blasting between holes are adopted to ensure the precise lowering and construction safety of the steel cofferdam. The finite element software MIDAS Civil is used to analyze the stress of steel cofferdams during the construction in order to ensure the safety of steel cofferdam. The analysis results indicate that the strength and deformation of the steel cofferdam at each construction stage meet the requirements of construction and specifications, which provides a reference for similar projects in the future.
