Abstract:Rivers are vital resources for urban development, but also create a divide in transportation links between the two banks. With the rapid development and expansion of cities, the demand for cross-river transportation has increased significantly. At the same time, due to the gradual construction of cross-river passages, these resources have become increasingly scarce. In this context, the overall design of the cross-river passage is of vital importance for conserving cross-river resources, giving full play to the transportation role of the cross-river passage and promoting the high-quality development of the city. In combination with the Wuhan Erqi Road Yangtze River Passage Project that is the first double-deck highway tunnel across the Yangtze River, firstly, the functional positioning, traffic flow prediction and construction scale of the project are demonstrated, and then the bridge and tunnel schemes are comprehensively compared. Finally, the overall design scheme is discussed from the aspects of route design, plane layout, traffic diversion design on both banks, vertical section design of the tunnel, and cross-section layout of the tunnel of the projects, which can provide a reference for the similar projects.
