Abstract:To address the increasing demand for urban road maintenance, the rising requirements for structural performance, and the limited construction windows at night, relying on a secondary arterial road asphalt pavement maintenance and repair project in Shanghai, and combined with the pavement disease distribution, traffic operation characteristics and construction organization requirements, a systematic research is conducted on the maintenance and repair schemes of asphalt pavement suitable for the different road sections. For the different areas, the differentiated maintenance and repair schemes are implemented. Based on the balance guarantee of economy and performance, the economical and reasonable surface material is regionally selected for the upper layer material. In the base reinforcing scheme, based on the conditions of vehicle types, traffic impact and construction time, four different reinforcing schemes for road base are selected according to the local conditions, which effectively balance the engineering cost, service life, traffic impact and the other factors, and can provide the valuable reference for the design of refined and high-effect maintenance and repair schemes of urban roads.
