Abstract:With the rapid urbanization in China, the number and scale of urban construction projects continue to expand, leading to a yearly increase in the production of construction waste such as construction spoil. For urban managers, solving the problem of “spoil besieging city” has become an urgent task. Taking Lingang Special Area as an example, and focusing on the consumption of construction spoil in Shanghai, a new spoil consumption approach combing the joint sea-rail transportation with the hydraulic reclamation project on the north side of Xiaoyangshan Island is proposed according to the local conditions. The differences between it and traditional land transportation in terms of cost structure, traffic impact and efficiency are analyzed. Additionally, the challenges in spoil shipping wharf, traffic organization and joint road-sea transportation management in the spoil transportation process are analyzed, and the corresponding solutions are provided, which provide valuable reference for addressing the consumption challenges of construction spoil in Shanghai and similar local cities, promoting urban green development.
