Under the background of vigorously promoting urban renewal, the renewal and enhancement of drainage and waterlogging prevention systems in old urban areas are the important measures to promote the high-quality urban development and build the resilient cities. In response to the problems in old urban areas, such as low standards, poor service quality and single model of drainage facilities, and the limitations in space and time for renovation, the renewal strategies for the drainage and waterlogging prevention system are proposed, including strengthening high-standard construction from the perspective of system improvement, enhancing multi-dimensional overall coordination at the implementation level, and highlighting characteristics in combination with urban renewal. The renewal measures in three aspects, namely ''reduction of source runoff, upgrading of intermediate transfer and transportation standards and guarantee of terminal pumping stations'' are expounded. The InfoWorks ICM model is utilized to assess the capacity and waterlogging risk of the drainage pipe network before and after the planned renewal, thereby supporting the improvement of the drainage and waterlogging prevention capacity in the area.
