Abstract:3D laser scanning technology is a high-precision, non-contact spatial data acquisition technique that has been widely adopted in bridge engineering. This technology can be used for the quality inspection of bridge construction, digital simulated pre-assembly, construction process monitoring, and bridge operation and maintenance, providing the efficient and precise solutions for bridge construction and management. Based on a systematic review of the fundamental principles of 3D laser scanning technology and point cloud data processing methods, the research progress of scholars at home and abroad in different stages of bridge engineering has been mainly sorted out, the current advantages and limitations of the technology are summarized, and the future development trend is prospected in order to provide the references for the further application of this technology in bridge engineering.
