Abstract:With the rapid increase in the number of cars in China, urban traffic congestion has become increasingly prominent. Therefore, it is increasingly important to implement HOV lanes and improve their control level. By comparing the average travel time, average travel speed, average vehicle speed, traffic volume, and 2+ passenger car sharing rate of HOV lanes and ordinary lanes before and after implementation, the implementation effect and conditions of existing HOV lanes are analyzed. In terms of enhancing the implementation level of HOV lanes, key points for renovation such as lane separation, lane width, interwoven lanes, approach roads, and direct connection ramps are proposed from the spatial dimension, and the application scenarios of different separation methods are analyzed, which provides the reliable reference for the implementation, promotion and optimization of HOV lanes.
