Abstract:Airport pavement maintenance should minimize the interference with the efficient operation of flights to the greatest extent on the basis of ensuring flight safety. Traditional cement pavement maintenance has a long cycle (≥ 21 d). Each maintenance operation leads to the grounding of 3 to 5 flights on average each day, which is difficult to meet the efficient operation requirements of the airport. A comprehensive technical system for rapid maintenance of airport asphalt pavement without stopping flights is proposed, which integrates the scheme design, material selection, process optimization, quality control and safety guarantee. Based on the 4-hour construction window at night (01:00~05:00), a “phased expansion enclosure” scheme is designed (initial 1.5 times maintenance area, mid-term 1.2 times and later only core area), which is equipped with infrared alarms and dual emergency channels to release 70% of the area for flight taxiing within 15 min. The materials selected are asphalt mixtures that meet the requirements of high-strength load-bearing, and are combined with optimized processes such as temperature-controlled transportation (arrival temperature ≥175 ℃) and speed-limited paving (2.0~3.0 m/min). The work efficiency per square meter reaches 12 m2/person·hour, which is 4 times higher than the cement pavement and can be opened to traffic 3 h after maintenance. Simultaneously, a dual-dimensional quality inspection system of “time period - area” and a triple guarantee mechanism of equipment - emergency response - personnel are established to ensure zero accidents throughout the construction process. This technological system provides a safe and efficient solution for rapid maintenance of airport pavements.
