Abstract:As a common connection structure in bridge engineering, there is relatively little research on the calculation method of bearing capacity for ear plates with stickers. To study the design method of ear plates with stickers, combined with the ear plates used in practical engineering, based on the existing standard formulas and through necessary treatments, the multiple design methods are proposed. Meanwhile, the connection of the pin shaft ear plate is simulated by using the contact analysis of the finite element software ANSYS to verify the reliability of each design method. The results show that the two methods based on the Design Specification for Steel Gates in Water Resources and Hydropower Engineering (SL 74-2019) are in good agreement with the finite element simulation results. It is recommended for calculating the maximum tensile and compressive stresses of the ear plate hole wall with stickers, and recommended to use the finite element calculation method as the design basis for the shear stress of the ear plate and the weld stress around the stickers.
