Abstract:In order to improve the efficiency of design analysis and accurately calculate the load effects of multi-girder skewed steel bridges, it is proposed to use the lateral distribution coefficients to simplify the calculation of such steel bridges. The beam grillage model and the single-beam model are used to analyze the applicability of the simplification method from the indicators such as steel beam stress, deformation and natural frequency. The results show that the load distribution of multi-girder skewed steel bridges has the spatial characteristics, mainly reflected in the uneven distribution of support reactions and shear stress. Overall, the single-beam model simplified using lateral distribution coefficients can meet the practical engineering requirements for stress, deformation and fatigue analysis when the skew angle is less than 25°.
