Abstract:With the increasing complexity and scale of urban and rural highway engineering projects, the traditional quality management models can no longer meet the demands of modern engineering projects. Relying on the Songhu Road - Sanmen Road Underpass Project, an information-based integrated management approach for highway engineering projects is proposed. By integrating the advanced technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS), the aim is to achieve the digital and intelligent management throughout the entire process of highway projects. A management system covering the entire life cycle of a project is studied and designed, comprising a core platform, four business modules and three safeguard mechanisms to ensure the data flow and decision-making support at all stages. During the planning and design phase, the integration of BIM and GIS technologies realizes the 3D visualization and life cycle adaptability analysis of the project, optimizes the design solutions and ensure the effective coordination with future maintenance. In the construction phase, IoT technologies and mobile terminals are employed to monitor the key parameters in real time, enhancing the construction quality and efficiency and ensuring the project progress according to plan. During the operation and maintenance phase, a smart maintenance platform and preventive technologies are utilized to achieve the real-time monitor and early warnings of the structural health, significantly reducing the maintenance costs and extending the service life of the projects.
