Abstract:To optimize the material type of seamless expansion joints and enhance the pavement performance and economy of the filling materials for seamless expansion joints, SBS elasticizer, mineral powder and anti-rutting agent are selected to conduct the composite modification on the original asphalt and prepare the asphalt binder for seamless expansion joints. The basic performance is evaluated by indicators such as penetration, softening point, rotational viscosity and elastic recovery rate. Finally, the asphalt binder with performance meeting the requirements is used as the raw material to prepare the asphalt filler for seamless expansion joints. The performance verification is carried out by combining high and low temperature performance tests and resilience performance tests. The test results show that the modified asphalt binder has excellent performance. The high-temperature stability, low-temperature crack resistance and elastic recovery ability of the seamless expansion joint asphalt filler are all superior to those of the conventional modified asphalt mixture, which meets the technical index requirements of the seamless expansion joint material, and has the significant economic benefits compared with the materials available on the market.
