Abstract:To explore the strategies and technical methods for improving the drainage capacity of rainwater systems, and based on the concept of sponge city construction, the impacts of source reduction, process storage and regulation, and terminal storage and regulation on enhancing rainwater system drainage capacity are studied and analyzed. The results indicate that (1) The appropriate source reduction facilities can effectively improve the drainage capacity of rainwater systems. The process and terminal storage and regulation have a peak flow control effect downstream of the installation point, but have no significant peak control effect upstream of the installation point, while providing a certain protective effect on the drainage pipelines and channels upstream of the installation point. (2) A favorable peak flow control effect is achieved under limited storage space. It is suggested that source reduction systems is used of a stable flow control mode of simultaneous inflow and outflow. (3) Taking the area of Shanghai as an example, due to the low soil infiltration rate, the permeable pavement and traditional rainwater gardens have a moderate effect on runoff peak control. The delay adjustment facilities demonstrate a significant effect on runoff peak control and can effectively enhance the drainage capacity of rainwater systems.
