Abstract:The scale of a wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) in Baoshan City is 4.0×104 m3/d, and the oxidation ditch process is adopted in current treatment process. The effluent water quality can reach the second level criteria in Discharge Standard of Pollutants for Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plant (GB18918—2002). According to the requirements, the effluent water quality needs to be upgraded from the second level to first level A. Under the condition of limited land use, according to the requirements for upgrading standards, the qualities of influent and effluent, and the requirements for no water interruption, and by fully comparing and selecting the technologies and economy, it is determined to adopt the reconstructed oxidation ditch with AAO function + MBBR to enhance the denitrification function, while the scheme of adding advanced treatment is used to enhance the removal of SS and total phosphorus. The upgrading and reconstruction play an important role in improving the water quality of regional rivers, which can provide experience for the upgrading and reconstruction of similar WWTPs.
