Abstract:As a major modern transport infrastructure, the expressway is an important guarantee for supporting regional interconnection and economic and social development. Due to the high proportion of heavy traffic, the pavement is subjected to significant dynamic and fatigue loads over long periods. All kinds of pavement defects are easily induced, leading to a decline in pavement performance and severely influencing driving safety, comfort and traffic efficiency. Therefore, based on the overhaul maintenance project for the Ninghai to Songtiao section of the Huailian Expressway, a systematic investigation and inspection is conducted for the technical condition of pavement. The focus is on analyzing the assessment standards for key evaluation indicators such as the pavement condition index (PCI) and the road quality index (RQI), and the comprehensive assessment is conducted on the current technical conditions of pavement. The research results can provide the reliable basis for scientific maintenance and precise decisions of expressways, and have a great significance for extending the service life, ensuring the traffic safety, and enhancing the service levels of expressways.
