Abstract:With the acceleration of urbanization, the application of special-shaped structures in bridge engineering is increasing. It is particularly important to study the bearing mechanism, failure mode and mechanical properties of special-shaped pier base slabs. Combined with a long-span bridge project in Suzhou, the distribution law of pile top reaction of pile group foundation under special-shaped base slabs is systematically analyzed. The mechanical performance indexes of base slab are compared, and the key factors affecting the reinforcement design are clarified. By comparing the differences in crack calculation between the Code for Design of Highway Bridges and Culverts, and Code for Design of Concrete Structures in China and the European standards, and using MIDAS FEA finite element software to simulate the crack development under the nonlinear stress state of the base slabs, the reasons for the differences in different calculation methods are explained in depth, and the corresponding calculation correction methods are proposed. The research results are finally applied to practical engineering, and the effect is good, which provides a reference for the design of similar special-shaped base slab structures.
