Abstract:In the black and odorous water body treatment project, during the storm and sewage separation reconstruction in densely populated areas, aiming at the challenges such as narrow space along the route, complex underground pipelines and obstacles, poor geological conditions, high groundwater levels, and deep burial depths, Larsen steel sheet piles are used for the housing cracks and safety hazards caused by the water stopping and support in the excavation during the large-scale installation of long-distance small-diameter sewage branches. After early demonstration experiments, a new pilot pipe jacking process is adopted to solve the difficulties in dewatering foundation pits at greater depths and reduce the impacts on surrounding structures. During implementation, the pipeline elevation is precisely controlled, the connections are well-sealed, the construction progress is significantly accelerated, the hydraulic conditions are good and the excellent effects are achieved. In sewage systems with combined sewer networks, the pipe jacking shafts are directly used as manholes systematically to regulate and store the volume, reduce the overflow risks, and increase the safety and resilience of the sewage pipeline network.
