Abstract:In well-developed urban areas, the trenchless construction methods such as pipe pulling, pipe jacking and shield tunneling are increasingly adopted for paving pipelines in many areas because of high land value and dense buildings. To avoid the house subgrade, underground pipelines, underpasses, subways and deep-buried tunnel projects, the pipelines can be laid at depths of 20~30 m, and the shaft diameter of large-sized water conveying projects can even reach 30 m. For this kind of long-distance large-diameter water conveying pipeline projects, it is necessary to compare and select its cost indexes and technical/economic schemes due to its complex routing, many design difficulties and severe construction conditions. Taking a raw water conveying pipeline project in Shanghai as an example, the analysis of economic indexes is conducted on the trenchless paving technologies for the large-diameter long-distance water conveying pipelines and the ultra-deep working shafts built using the different construction methods, which provides a reference for the design and decision-making of the similar pipeline projects.
