Abstract:There are the problems such as complex traffic flow patterns, difficult signal control and numerous traffic conflict points at the multi-road special-shaped intersections, which are the bottlenecks constraining the overall service level of urban road networks. How to improve the traffic efficiency and traffic safety of multi-road special-shaped intersections is a core issue faced in the context of urban transportation construction aimed at “revitalizing existing capacity and controlling new growth”. Taking the six-road special-shaped intersection of Longjiang Avenue in Dangchang County, Longnan City as the research object, the parameters such as intersection structure, road function and traffic volume are investigated, and the surrounding land and road network planning are comprehensively analyzed. The micro-reconstruction scheme for intersections and road sections with linkage control without breaking the current red line is proposed. The current six-road special-shaped intersection is reconstructed into a five-road intersection, significantly reducing traffic conflict points. Finally, using saturation, delay time, queue length and service level as the evaluation indicators, a comparative analysis reveals that the reconstruction scheme has the outstanding advantages. This scheme provides a good reference for the design of similar multi-road special-shaped intersection reconstruction schemes.
