Abstract:With the in-depth implementation of the urban development strategy along the river and the increase in the number of resident-owned electric bicycles, the demand for non-motorized vehicle travel across the Qiantang River among residents in the central urban area of Hangzhou is constantly increasing. The current situation and existing problems of non-motorized vehicle traffic facilities crossing the river in the central urban area of Hangzhou are analyzed. Combined with the new development trends of urban non-motorized vehicle traffic crossing the river, the optimization strategies including expanding non-motorized river-crossing channels, enriching non-motorized river-crossing modes and optimizing the connection modes of two river banks are proposed, and three connection modes for non-motorized vehicles to get on and off the bridges are put forward, which provides reference for Hangzhou and other cities developing along the river to improve the traffic of non-motorized vehicles crossing the river and perfect the network of non-motorized vehicle lanes.
