Abstract:According to relevant codes, liquefied soil layers not specially treated cannot be directly used as the natural foundation bearing stratum. Therefore, the measures must be taken for building structures in sites with liquefied soil layers. Firstly the advantages and disadvantages of traditional measures for eliminating foundation liquefaction are analyzed, and then the use of the cement-soil mixing pile continuous wall enclosure method is proposed for liquefaction foundation treatment. The research findings from some scholars on this method and the application practices in engineering are introduced. In combination with an expansion project of a wastewater treatment plant, and in response to the liquefied soil layers existing in site, the design principles, construction techniques and quality inspection methods of the enclosure method are expounded in detail. Engineering cases demonstrate the effectiveness of this method in restraining lateral deformation of liquefied soil layers and improving the bearing capacity of the foundation.
