Abstract:To address the core bottleneck of insufficient durability and short service life of municipal bridge pavements, a paving system comprising hot-mixed epoxy asphalt mixture EA10 and hot-mixed epoxy asphalt gap-graded mixture EPSMA10 has been developed. The research focuses on the key material properties, construction quality control parameters and other relevant aspects. The results indicate that the technical performances of core materials such as epoxy asphalt binder and epoxy resin adhesive all meet the standards, and both EA10 and EPSMA10 exhibit the excellent pavement performances. The construction parameters are clarified that the cleanliness of steel plates after sandblasting and derusting is Sa3.0 grade, a roughness is 80~150 μm, the adhesive mixing time is 120 s and the curing time is 24~36 h. It is determined that the loose paving coefficient for paving is 1.2, and a temperature threshold is 160°C. A three-factor collaborative control method for compaction is established, which three factors are temperature, wind speed and pavement condition. A differentiated compaction scheme is proposed with a wind speed threshold of 4.5 m/s. It is clear that subsequent construction procedures can be carried out after EA10 is cured for 4 d, and that the traffic can be open after EPSMA10 is cured for 10 d. The research results provide the key technical support for improving the paving construction quality.
