Abstract:The Wusong River Project is one of the major projects specified in the Taihu Lake Basin Flood Control Plan approved by the State Council.It covers construction works including river channel dredging and new excavation, construction of water control hub facilities, as well as the new construction and reconstruction of cross-river bridges along the line, and adopts a phased implementation approach. The Luowen River section serves as an integral component of the Wusong River Project, with a total river course length of 5.88 km and 7 bridges to be constructed (4 vehicle bridges and 3 pedestrian and non-motorized vehicle bridges). The adaptability demonstration and comparative selection analysis of various bridge types is first conducted. Meanwhile, taking this project as a case study, it elaborates on the ideas and methods for the scheme selection of bridge groups, ranging from the overall design concept to individual bridge schemes, thus providing a reference for the scheme design of urban cross-river bridge groups.
