Abstract:To enhance the ability of the asphalt base layer to resist flexural and tensile fatigue stress, taking the toughened modified asphalt as the base material and through the optimization of gradation design scheme, the comprehensive performance of the toughened modified asphalt mixture is further enhanced. On the basis of improving the low-temperature cracking resistance and fatigue resistance of the toughened mixture, and through the comparison with the asphalt mixture prepared by the conventional gradation AM-25, it is found that the low-temperature cracking resistance indicators of the gradation-optimized toughened modified asphalt mixture are increased by 17.04%~202.78%, and its fatigue resistance performance indexes are increased by 62%~121%. This research outcome provides a brand-new technical approach for improving the durability and driving safety of asphalt pavements, and holds significant practical engineering application value.
