Abstract:Urban road at-grade intersections are key nodes of the urban traffic system, and the rationality of their design directly impacts traffic operation efficiency and safety levels. Combining common specifications with engineering practices, this paper briefly elaborates on the key design points of urban road at-grade intersections and clarifies such principles as smooth traffic flow and safety priority. It analyzes the core design points from multiple aspects including traffic organization, geometric design, vertical design and supporting facility design, demonstrates the application of at-grade intersection design in combination with practical cases, and puts forward strategies for improving the design level. This study aims to provide design ideas with practical reference value for the new construction and reconstruction of at-grade intersections, help improve urban traffic conditions and promote the sustainable development of urban traffic.
