Abstract:To effectively enhance the operational safety level of expressway bridges, the aim is to establish a set of systematic risk prevention and control and hidden danger investigation and governance system to prevent the major safety accidents and ensure the long-term safe service of bridges. Taking an expressway bridge in Shanghai as an example, the operational risk sources are classified into five categories, such as bridge structure, traffic safety, operational environment, natural conditions and management. The LCD evaluation method is adopted to grade and assess each risk source and formulate the graded control measures. On this basis, a dynamic hidden danger governance mechanism is established to clarify the investigation frequency and response process for various risks. Eventually, a closed-loop management system covering the entire process of “risk identification - assessment and control - hidden danger investigation - governance feedback” is formed. The practice has proved that the implementation of this system is conducive to the forward-looking prevention and control of bridge operation risks and the precise governance of hidden dangers, significantly improving the efficiency of maintenance and management, thereby extending the service life of bridges and providing a reference for the safe operation and maintenance of similar bridges.
