Abstract:Conventional treatment schemes for filling areas of expressways are mainly to avoid the surface water accumulation and reduce the surface water infiltration of the filling area through the water interception and drainage engineering measures. However, if the conventional treatment schemes are used for all the large-scale filling areas, the excessively high engineering costs are usually caused. Therefore, relying on the comprehensive treatment project for the filling area at the north of Huaiji in Yingde-Huaiji Expressway of Guangdong Province, on the basis of comparatively studying the multiple schemes, a new scheme is proposed to add a multi-layer reverse filtration structure of rubble prisms to the side slopes in large filling areas for the treatment of reverse pressure berms. This scheme can not only enhance the embankment stability, but also prevent the mud flow and pipe gushing diseases caused by long-term water seepage on the embankment slope. At the same time, the scheme features the low cost and convenient construction, and is an effective treatment, which can provide a reference for similar projects in the future.
