Abstract:The Huangpu River Footbridge is located at the Huangpu River estuary in the core CBD of Guangzhou, connecting the Party Pier cultural and creative district with the Guangzhou Tower waterfront belt, which aims to respond to the multiple demands of slow traffic connection in high-density waterfront areas, regional cultural expression and coordination with ecologically sensitive sites. The design is inspired by the image of ancient banyan trees in Lingnan, and an overall layout that combines an arc-shaped plane with an expanded cantilevered platform in the middle section is adopted. The structural application of the arched stayed cable - beam composite system, the moderately controlled night lighting and the integrated organizational strategy with the waterfront space achieve the coordinated unity of structural force, landscape expression and public activity functions. The engineering practice shows that under complex site conditions, the bridge effectively balances the urban landscape shaping, ecological disturbance control and the enhancement of public vitality, providing a reference for the design of waterfront landscape footbridges in high-density urban areas.
