Abstract:Based on the renovation project of the F1 Shanghai International Circuit, aiming at the gradation fluctuation of asphalt mixtures caused by special fillers, and combined with the production metering curves of two mixing plants, the laboratory sieve analysis and the on-site test data, the aggregate metering fluctuation, the synthetic gradation shift law and their impacts on pavement texture depth and compaction degree are analyzed. The results show that the 0.2%~0.3% fluctuation of the filler with a designed content of 1.7% is the core cause of aggregate metering fluctuation, and the coarse aggregate bins are significantly more sensitive to it than fine ones. The synthetic gradation shifts by 0.6%~0.8% in the 0.075~2.36 mm fine aggregate range while remaining basically stable in the coarse aggregate range. Pavement texture depth is significantly negatively correlated with fine aggregate passing rate. The coefficient of variation of texture depth in the dual-machine junction section reaches 10%, and the compaction degree deviation is 3.4%~5.2%. The study result confirms that metering fluctuation of mixing plants is the inherent cause of uneven pavement performance, providing technical reference for gradation control of mixtures and application of special fillers in high-grade race tracks.
