Abstract:Anti-rutting additive is commonly used to improve the dynamic stability of asphalt mixture. There are differences or contractions in testing items and technical requirements for anti-rutting additives among different standards. The technical requirements for anti-rutting additive in different standards are compared, including density, melt mass-flow rate (MFR), ash content, water absorption and melting point. Several standards lack a clear indication of testing conditions or methods for anti-rutting additive. Its testing temperature and method (that is immersion method, liquid pyknometer method or titration method) for density, and soaking temperature for water absorption should be clearly indicated in these standards. The technical requirement for melt mass-flow rate (MFR) should be adjusted. If the calcination temperature for ash content is 620 ℃ according to the new testing method, its technical requirement should be adjusted. The inorganic components in the anti-rutting additive can be accurately obtained by treating the residue after calcination with NH4HCO3 or (NH4)2CO3.
